FHS Music Boosters

Q: When are the Music Booster General Meetings held?
A: The Music Boosters General Meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the main music room or Choir room. The MUSIC CALENDAR is the authoritative source for upcoming meetings.

Q: How can I get involved in the Music Boosters?
A: Anyone is eligible to help with our organization. To become a voting member of the music boosters, you must have a student in the program. In addition to chairpeople, we strongly encourage members to shadow current chairpeople for future position coverage. Some instances do require background checks. Please be sure to fill out the Volunteer Application and have an up-to-date TB test on file with the district.

Calendar/Itineraries

Q: How do I plan ahead for all of the trips?
A: Make sure that you mark your home calendars for all the trips we have listed on our MUSIC CALENDAR. Block off the entire day and evening, as we do not know our performance times until usually the week prior to the trip. The Director may schedule a rehearsal early in the day if necessary. An itinerary will be emailed to parents, as well as printed and distributed to students. Please check the calendar for updates.

Q:  Is there Marching Band Practice on the first day of school?
A:  No, the first practice is in August (date: TBA) from 5:45 PM to 9:15 PM. Make sure your student always has plenty of water and sunscreen as well as warm clothing. Once the sun sets, the stadium can get cold.

Q:  Will students need to bring their instruments?
A:  Students need to bring their instruments to every practice/rehearsal.

Q: I want to volunteer as a chaperone or help with Marching Band/Color Guard.. What do I need to do?
A: Thank you! We need a lot of help during the year. Contact the lead person in the area of your interest (2021-2022 school year lead people TBA.) All parent volunteers must register with Folsom High School to volunteer with the Music Program. You can do this easily by following the instructions on our Volunteer Registration page.

Jazz: Bands, Choirs

Q: When does the Jazz Band II meet?
A: The Jazz Band II meets Monday through Thursday at 7:30 am (during Zero Period).

General Questions

Q: Is there a lost and found?
A: Yes, we have an area in the Music Room for items that were left behind by students. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity twice a year (during Winter Break and Summer Break).

Q: What does my student do with his instrument during the day?
A: Each student is issued a locker with a lock in the Music Room.  The student is responsible for keeping their locker locked at all times. The Music Room is open at dismissal time to pick up their instrument before they leave campus.
